he Belgian coast resembles an exemplary practice of a continuos implementation of infrastructures with the purpose to control natural systems. The increasing capacity to deal with these natural forces resulted in the rather engineered urban realm of the Belgian coast translated into a fix parralell system of polders allowing an agricultural production, a reduced of once a vast dune landscape, the multistorey apartment block, the sea dyke and its overvalued linear beach and the sea with its sand banks.
The project envisions recovering the dynamism of the coastal landscape by de-poldering some areas along the coast and landreclaiming others. This allows to reimagine new urban ecologies, where forestry becomes a strategic concept in the new interplay of a dynamic coastal landscape.
Portions of land are de-poldered to recreate a sea water ecosystem: this ecosystem consists of a salt marsh swamp which returns to a dynamic cycle that relies on the tide. A new embankment is conceived, a slow tide bay and beach lagoons are created thanks to land-reclaiming.
Complementing these two water based ecosystems, the extension of the already existing dunes is envisaged. A new dune forest and grasslands grow from the existing one between the beaches. The new beaches are created by land-reclaiming, not only to allow the expansion of the dune forest, but also to cope with new urbanization.

A section of the territorial vision is detailed in Wenduin as a way to explore the diversity of ecosystems surrounding the city and as an opportunity to change the configuration and linear scheme that has oriented this and every city along the coast.
Fish ponds activate a new way of using the new low-tide bay. A peninsula has been created to develop new beach infrastructure, that breaks the linear scheme development. A new seafront is proposed to enter to the new land from the city with new equipment including a fish market, but also as a new destination for the city.

The different layout of structures creates opportunities to develop a diverse aquaculture activities, such cultivation of oysters and shrimps. Behind the new urbanization a much less heavy system of structures fixes the land by growing the dune forest that follows linear structures.
